1. For verbs that end in -O, -CH, -SH, -SS, -X, or -Z we add -ES in the third person.
- go – goes .......... She goes to school.
- catch – catches ..... The cat catches the ball.
- wash – washes .... Juan washes his car.
- kiss – kisses ...... Lucia kisses her husband.
- fix – fixes ........... He fixes the motorcycle.
2. For verbs that end in a consonant + Y, we remove the Y and add -IES.
- marry – marries .........She marries her love.
- study – studies .......... Raul studies English.
- carry – carries ......... The dog carries its puppy.
- worry – worries ....... my mom worries for her son.
NOTE: For verbs that end in a vowel + Y, we just add -S.
